distracted driving tickets

Here is what drivers can do to avoid a distracted driving ticket in Ontario Canada

The new laws are cracking down on distracted driving in the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario at large. This officer explains what you can do to avoid a distracted driving charge.

Make sure to operate and use your phones in hands-free mode only. You can place your phones in the cup holder. Hands-free means securely attached to your vehicle by one any type of mount. Make sure your phone is attached to the windscreen or the vehicle before you drive. Red lights are another challenge that we have. Just because you’re stopped at a red light or stopped in traffic does not allow you to pick up your phone or use these devices. All of a sudden things can change on the road so you need to be paying attention. So when it comes to your phone you can tap it while it is mounted to turn it off and on.
